I lost my Basset Hound, Roscoe, in July of 2002 to sudden kidney failure. We were lost without our little boy. A woman I had met at the Suncoast Basset Hound Picnic in Tampa, Florida in February, 2002 heard of my loss and offered a solution. She had seven basset hounds and was having severe dominance issues. She wanted a new home for one of her hounds. I repeatedly declined, as I wasn't ready for another basset, just sorely missed Roscoe.
I was contacted in a panic after a particularly awful dog fight. I half-heartedly agreed to come and meet her bassets. I took one look at Lady Bug with her big eyes, and knew she had to come home with me. I swear you could see her big heart through those eyes. She hopped in the truck and has never looked back.
Lady Bug has flourished. She is such a sweet and sensitive girl! She loves to prance and is often called "Miss America". There is no sign of the dominance and aggression that was causing so many problems.

She has finally found her forever home here with me. She has had numerous homes in her short life. She has been shuffled from home to home, and to the pound at least twice!
Having never had a little basset girl, I have had a blast designing clothes for Lady Bug. After attending our first Waddle (Suncoast Basset Hound Rescue's Sweetheart Day), I had lots of pictures of Lady Bug in several of her outfits. I sent the pictures to a friend of mine, and she decided she needed an outfit for her friend's Basset Hound. I purchased several fabrics and designed four outfits for her to choose from. Once the designs were completed, she persuaded me to share my designs with others. Lady B's Closet has blossomed from there.
